Today was a big day in our school calendar as we held the elections for all of the committees in our school! These committees are the Student Council, Green School Committee, Forest School Committee and Active School Committee. A huge well done to all of our candidates who made amazing posters and gave very detailed and well prepared speeches. Unfortunately, not everyone can make it to the committees but they should all be very proud of themselves for their hard work and for putting themselves out there!
The results are as follows: Redwood Student Council: Callum and Charlie Green School Committee: Sarah and Jasper Forest School Committee: Megan and Filip Active School: Maria and Sophia Rowan Student Council: Sofia and Cillian Green School Committee: Victoria and Davi Forest School Committee: Omogbai and Lena Active School Committee: Scott and Andrei Congratulations to Maria in the Redwood Class and Chloe in the Rowan Class who are our Students of the Week this week! Well done!
Hi Parents!
This year both of us in 3rd Class will be running after school clubs on Wednesday afternoons and we wanted to give you some more details about our clubs. Ronan's club is called 'Discover Nature' and in this club your child will get the opportunity to grow their own plants, learn to recognise trees, flowers and birds in their surroundings, explore the outdoors for a variety of creatures and learn their role in taking care of our environment! This club will be hands on every week and is sure to be a brilliant experience! Shauna's club is a Zumba club where your children can learn the benefits of keeping fit and active through dance! They will learn a variety of routines in a fun and energetic atmosphere to some of their favourite songs. Kids already love to dance so this is a great way to tap into their interests to keep them fit and healthy! If you would like your child to join any club, the cost of each club is €40 for 10 weeks starting the first week of October. This money covers the costs of all materials and resources for the club. Send in the club fee in an envelope to either of us with your child's name, the club name and their class name written on the front. We look forward to seeing some excited faces at our clubs in October! These past couple of weeks have seen busy times in the Rowan and Redwood classes! New routines have been set up, new friends have been made and all the kids are getting used to being busier than ever!
This month, we are learning about ourselves, our identities and where we come from. Setting goals, talking about emotions and expressing that through art and investigation are just some of the ways we've been having fun while learning. We have also been focusing on our mental health by taking 2-3 minutes out of every day to do breathing exercises and then completing a gratitude journal where we express one thing we are grateful for in every day. Check out some pictures below for an insight into 3rd class life! Also, follow this link for a useful way to help your child to learn their tables: https://www.timestables.com/ |
