Dear Parents,
One of the most popular modern Irish traditions is watching the 'The Late Late Toy Show' every year and this year's show is on tonight! Many of the children were so excited talking about it today! The show is a spectacle of toys, music, dance and loads of fun, just for children coming up to the festive season. If you would like to watch it with your children tonight, especially if you have never seen it before, you can watch it on RTE1 at 9:35pm or catch it live at the following link: https://www.rte.ie/player/ Enjoy the show if you watch it and have a great weekend! Ronan and Shauna.

Please see the picture below for details of this year's Winter Performances! It is sure to be another great celebration of "the most wonderful time of the year." :) Dear Parents,
Our student council Movie Night in term 2 takes place on Thursday, 21st November 2019. The Student Council voted for the movie Penguins of Madagascar. The screening will take place in the school hall on the big projector! Children are welcome to bring snacks and there will be a tuck shop selling treats on the night too. Children are welcome to bring along siblings, friends other family members. Tickets €5 (single) €10 (family) will be on sale outside the school every morning/afternoon and online too. Tickets will also be available on the night. Hello parents!
The children from 2nd - 6th class will be performing the songs they have been learning with Fergus and Dónal from Fingal Academy of Music next Tuesday November 26th @ 1pm. The children have been working extremely hard at developing their musical literacy skills and singing skills for this performance so it would be great to see some of you there. A huge well done to all our 3rd class children who completed their Tom Crean projects both this week and last week. The children put lots of working into their projects through researching, assembling and decorating them.
The huge variety of information and different forms of presentation was amazing. From booklets, posters, PowerPoints and fact files, everyone's was different and amazing in its own way! I can't wait to see how the children's research and investigation skills improve over the course of the year! Last week saw another successful Science Week here at PETNS with lots of fun activities going on all week! Dublin Zoo came to visit and taught us all about some of the animals they house there. We also had our Science for Fun day where we had lots of fun investigating and experimenting with different materials and processes! Our Science Fact of the Day was also a popular staple every morning. Many thanks to Stephen for organising a super week!
We would like to invite all families to attend our celebration of Peace Day 2019 with a performance in the Assembly Hall at 9am on Friday 20th September. Classes have been preparing songs and poems and are looking forward to performing for you on Friday. See you there!
Today was a big day in our school calendar as we held the elections for all of the committees in our school! These committees are the Student Council, Green School Committee, Forest School Committee and Active School Committee. A huge well done to all of our candidates who made amazing posters and gave very detailed and well prepared speeches. Unfortunately, not everyone can make it to the committees but they should all be very proud of themselves for their hard work and for putting themselves out there!
The results are as follows: Redwood Student Council: Callum and Charlie Green School Committee: Sarah and Jasper Forest School Committee: Megan and Filip Active School: Maria and Sophia Rowan Student Council: Sofia and Cillian Green School Committee: Victoria and Davi Forest School Committee: Omogbai and Lena Active School Committee: Scott and Andrei |
